With choosing the Consumer Studies specialisation, students will gain insight
into the economic as well as the sociological aspects of consumers and
households, and the factors determining consumption behavior and patterns.

This specialisation contains the following modules:

Semester 2:

  • Academic Consultancy Training in Consumer Affairs
  • Modular Skills Training
  • Sensory Perception and Consumer Preference
  • Innovations in Marketing Decision Making
  • Food Ethics/ Ethics and Social Sciences

or Semester 3:

  • Consumer Behaviour
  • Capita Selecta Marketing and Consumer Behaviour

Optional Courses for Specialisation I (2 are to be choosen):

  • Human Oriented Product Design
  • Consumer Decision Making
  • Consumer Technology
  • Communication Strategies in Everyday Life
  • Gender, Culture and Markets
  • Sociology in Development: Towards a Critical Perspective
  • Food Ethics
